This volume contains most of Hazrat Inayat Khan's teaching on sound and music, their metaphysical foundation and the significant part they play in the understanding of cosmic manifestation as well as the rhythm of everyday life. Of the four books this volume contains, The Mysticism of Sound and Cosmic Language have been published before, but Music and The Power of the Word appear here for the first time in print. Hazrat Inayat Khan also left a large number of hitherto unpublished lectures which will be collected and published in this series for the first time. While great care has been taken to preserve the very personal style and flow of the original texts, certain irregularities, due to the fact that his teaching was mostly oral, have been rectified, and this new edition will remain the authorised edition.
