A simple, grass-roots drama about an ordinary Australian and his family which promises to be unique. A heart-warming story of a young Aussie bloke growing up with a "dream" of being a champion bicycle racer; of a dare-devil teenager who joined up in the Army "for adventure"; of his sweetheart who faithfully wrote to him during his long years of absence; of a returned soldier who became a master plumber; of the indomitable love, courage and determination that he and Pauline had in their hearts, as they worked their way through life. It's also bout their remarkable son, Garry, who suffered his first stroke at the age of seven years, eventually rendering him quadriplegic and almost totally blind. Jack's zest for life almost pales into insignificance, when compared with Garry's bloody-minded grit and fanatical determination to surmount the insurmountable and develop a worthwhile career for himself.

Fabulous

I loved this shop but best of all - there is a story behind me purchasing my book. I didnt know when I bought it, but the copy sent to me was a signed copy donated by the RSL to Adelaide High School. That copy is going back to the UK with my 80 year old friend as a memory of his recent trip to Australia. I have the same book and it was written by one of my former clients who gave me his copy. I didn't realise the shop was in Goolwa so loved that it was local. That added to everything. Super quick delivery too. Lovely little note inside. Fabulous souvenir for my friend & whom I will prob never see again. (Price was amazing too). Thanks Laura.
